Ben's WX Summary
- Updated: Sunday @ 10:45am
Enjoying a beautiful weekend as our stretch of above normal temperatures is finally about to come to an end. High pressure will weaken and shift east in the coming days, allowing troughing to return to the West Coast. This will initiate a cool-down beginning tomorrow with a chance of showers around midweek. In the meantime, expect mostly sunny skies today with a few high clouds as highs reach the upper 60s to lower 70s. West winds returning 10-20 mph during the afternoon. Breezy and a tad cooler tomorrow as highs drop into the 60s, west winds continuing 10-20 mph at times. The cool down will continue through the end of the week as highs drop back into the 50s, closer to average, while overnight lows remain in the 30s. A low-pressure system will pass inland to our north later Tuesday into Wednesday with deeper moisture staying to our north; however, we could squeeze out a few light showers Tuesday night or Wednesday. Rainfall amounts look on the light side with snow confined to the highest elevations, above 8,000 feet. Temperatures will recover a bit by next weekend as our long-range forecast remains dry. Also worthy of noting, we have seen a cluster of thunderstorms fire up over Sonora Mexico, this is associated with an upper level disturbance and not an early start to the monsoon season, but it could generate a few thunderstorms to our east over the next few days, no convection is expected over our area.
